Wing Trailer Shots (Video)

Written by

Working fast break drills in the half court is a very effective and efficient way to work. By doing so, you can simulate fast break actions and still get high repetitions.

In Wing - Trailer Shots, we simulate the wing getting a return pass, after the ball has been advanced to the corner, for a trailer shot.

In the set up we have

Passer with the ball on the baseline

2 markers, one near mid-court and the other on the wing

Shooter starts around the wing marker.

Shooter runs up the floor as if he is on the break.

He sprints to the 2nd marker, turn around the marker and sprints as if he is filling the lane on the break.

After the shot, shooter then repeats the same cuts for the next shot.  Wing Trailer Shots4

In the second series, we perform the same drill with the exception of reacting as if help defense comes out of the middle.
