Cones Up and Down (Video)

Written by

Cones Up and Down is a fun and challenging way to improve your ball handling.

Set up a line of cones. Space them far enough apart so a player can dribble through them, but close enough to make it a challenge for him.  Cones Up and Down 001

The first time the player goes through the cones, he starts on his dribble. Upon each cone he reaches, he performs some type of change dribble. After his change dribble, he lays down the cone, passes the cone to the ball hand side and proceeds to the next cone. He continues through all the cones.

Upon reaching the last cone, he comes back in the same manner, except that he stands the cone up.

If you have a group of players, start them in a line on the base line and send them through one at a time. The first player lays the cone down, the second player stands the cone back up.
