The drill starts with 2 markers (preferably obsticles such as chairs or cones) set at around 28 feet from the basket.
Players are in 2 lines on the baseline, in line with the markers. The player in the outside line has a ball and is the offense. Inside player is the defense.
On "go," players take off toward the markers.
Offensive player, on the dribble, goes to the outside of the marker, dribbles around the marker, toward the inside and heads back toward the basket.
Defensive player runs between the markers, turns outside the marker and heads toward the basket.
Offense should take as few dribbles as possible and should finish on the same side of the court the drill is run on.
|As soon as both players turn toward the basket, the game is on. Offense tries to get to basket while the defense tries to defend the ball handler.|
