2 on 1 Fast Break Drill (Video)

2 on 1 Fast Break Drill is an extremely efficient way to practice the skills and decision making necessary to effectively run a 2 on 1 break. Working it in the half court allows for more players to be involved and get more repetitions.

Set 3 makers near mid-court. One on each wing and one in the middle

Set 3 player lines on the baseline, opposite each of the chairs.

In this set-up, the 2 outside lines are on offense and the middle line is for the defense

The coach throws the ball to one of the offensive lines.  2 on 1 2
The play, upon catching the ball, makes a decision. The ball should be in the hands of the best finisher. If he is the best finisher, he keeps the ball, if the other player is the best finisher, he passes to him  2 on 1 3

All 3 players take off, offense on the dribble. They sprint to mid-court, go around the marker and head back to the basket.

They are now running a 2 on 1 break.
